White rust is a water fungus that lives on plants in the crucifer family.

White rust (Albugo candida). White rust is a water fungus (Oomycetes) that lives on plants in the crucifer family (Brassicaceae). Spores of this fungus infect a plant if it remains wet for several hours at a time.
A variant is Goatsbeard white rust (Albugo tragopogonis) which occurs on the underside of the leaves of salsify, among others.
