The Lacquered bracket is found on both living and dead trees.
Do not confuse with:
Willow Bracket (Phellinus tuberculosus)
Lacquered bracket (Ganoderma resinaceum). This wood rot fungus is found on both living and dead trees.
Through damage to the roots or base of the trunk, the spores of the fungus enter the tree, weakening it.
The Lacquered bracket is found mainly in northern and central Europe.
