Common Cornsalad(Valerianella locusta) is native to Europe, parts of Asia and north Africa, where it is eaten as a leaf vegetable. Common cornsalad belongs to the honeysuckle family (Caprifoliaceae). Common Cornsalad is a low hardy crop. Sow in late summer and early fall in the final spot in open ground. Common Cornsalad sown early in late summer (August) can be harvested from October through January. Common Cornsalad sown in autumn can be harvested after winter. Common Cornsalad does not have high soil requirements, it is suitable as a follow-up crop after early potatoes, leeks and peas. Keep the plot free of weeds; Common Cornsalad is not susceptible to disease.
