Mix 20 ml of soft soap with 1 liter of water and mist the plants to be treated with it. No longer active once the liquid has dried up. Repeat after five to seven days. Dish soap and liquid hand soap are not soft soaps; soft soaps are usually made by saponification with potassium instead of the more typical sodium hydroxide.<br>\nUse soft water; hard water negates the action of soap. Not all plants like soap: lathyrus does not, for example.
