The spider mite moves up and around the needles and produces some webbing.<br>\nThe spider mite lays eggs on young shoots in the fall; the eggs hibernate on the needles and scales. In spring (April, May), the eggs hatch. As many as four to five generations may develop in the summer and fall.<br>\nThe cone-shaped dwarf conifer Alberta spruce &lsquo;Conica&rsquo; <em>(Picea glauca &lsquo;Conica&rsquo;)<\/em> is very susceptible to the spruce spider mite. The infection starts at the bottom and the shady side, because the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plantenplagen.nl\/en\/plantenplagen\/mites\/\" target=\"_blank\" title='[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=\"\"]Mites are small, often hard to see, arachnids that can have different colors, including red, green and brown.
