Mostly in deciduous forests, gardens and parks with moist, nutrient-rich soil.<br>\nScarlet elf cups are between one and five cm in size. On the thin, two cm stem is the cup shaped cap. Initially the calyx is almost closed, the inside of the calyx is bright red.
